iPod socks















Materials:
4 size three double pointed needles
any color acrylic yarn
place marker
size f crochet hook or blunt large eye needle

For 1st or 2nd generation Nano:

CO 24 stitches on one needle
put 6 stitches on one needle and 8 on another
the third needle will have 10 stitches
place the marker at the end of the six stitches
k1, p1 from the needle with 10 stitches onto the needle with 6 stitches
using the fourth needle, continue a k1, p1 ribbing for 6 rows
knit for about 25 rows or until sock is long enough to fit iPod
bind off final row, leaving a 6 inch tail
turn inside out and sew together with crochet hook or needle, using the tail

3rd Generation Nano:
CO 30 stitches
put 8 stitches on one needle and 10 on another
the third needle will have 12 stitches
place the marker at the end of the six stitches
k1, p1 from the needle with 12 stitches onto the needle with 8 stitches
using the fourth needle, continue a k1, p1 ribbing for 4 rows
knit for about 18 rows or until sock is long enough for iPod
bind off final row, leaving a 6 inch tail
turn inside out and sew together with crochet hook or needle, using the tail


stripes and checkers can be done by working a fair isle pattern:
knit in a second color, alternating every stitch
for stripes, knit on the same color
for checkers, knit on the opposite color; for this you will have to knit the same color twice in a row for the final stitch of one row and the first stitch of the next row
